1. Never, never, never give up.
2. You really have to do what you like and have a burning desire for it.
3. Talk to people who are good at what you are interested in and see how they develop to the point where they are today. Learn from them if you can - even if you don't get paid for it.
4. Keep growing and keep learning.
5. Build relationships.
This event, which was held at the Hilton Garden Inn, celebrated the launch of the book, which faced much adversity prior to it being published.
The night included several performances by Vocal Synergy (an all-female a-cappella group from Wagner College). They are beautiful young ladies with incredible voices and it was a pleasure to listen to them sing. I even spoke with a girl who, afterward, decided to compete in a 2014 Miss New York local!
The ceremony, which honored the book's contributors, was short and sweet. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to meet many of the entrepreneurs afterward. They are all amazing people who followed their big dreams and made them come true with hard work.
